DR. NOEL HACEGABA

Dr. Noel Hacegaba is the Chief Commercial Officer and Managing Director of Operations for the Port of Long Beach.  Prior to his current role, he served as the Port’s Deputy Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer and was responsible for managing the daily business activities of the Port, including four bureaus, 17 divisions and 500 employees.  Dr. Hacegaba has 20 years of public and private sector experience spanning a variety of industries. Prior to joining the Port, he worked for the nation's second-largest environmental services company and managed contracts totaling $200 million. In earlier roles, he served as a Chief of Staff for an elected official, a business development executive for a growing international company, a research analyst for a policy research group and as a management consultant.  

Dr. Hacegaba is a graduate of the University of Southern California and holds degrees in economics, business administration and urban planning.  He earned a doctorate in public administration from the University of La Verne.  Dr. Hacegaba has also received the professional designations of Certified Port Executive and Port Professional Manager.
