"Long Beach CaLL and Internships"
Please join us as our featured speaker will be Phil Davis, a CaLL Board Member and Assistant Superintendent of LBUSD.
Mr. Davis is a Board Member of the Long Beach Call (LBCaLL); an organization developed to provide students with Work Based Learning experiences such as internships, job shadowing opportunities and teacher externships in high school (LBUSD), college (LBCC) and university (CSULB) in a joint effort with business and non-profit partners. Our goal is enlisting the support of business and community partners to provide students an opportunity to experience the workforce in a variety of ways, so they are college and career ready.
He is also the Assistant Superintendent of High Schools for Long Beach Unified School District (LBUSD). Mr. Davis provides supervision and support to the six comprehensive high schools, three themed high schools and three alternative education high schools focusing on Industry Pathways, algebra success rates, number of students graduating, curriculum development and implementation of Common Core through Link Learning.
Mr. Davis has over twenty five years’ experience in education as a high school teacher and administrator in middle and high school. Mr. Davis has also taught teaching method classes at California State University, Dominguez Hills.
