Topic RCRA & Non-RCRA Hazardous Waste – What Is It and How to Manage It
Understanding the difference between RCRA and non-RCRA hazardous waste is critical for maintaining compliance and avoiding costly violations. This session provides a practical overview of how to identify and classify waste, determine its regulatory status, and manage it in accordance with both Federal Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) regulations and California-specific hazardous waste rules. Attendees will gain clarity on the types of waste that fall under each category and the key distinctions in how each must be handled.
This presentation will guide participants through the waste determination process, storage and labeling requirements, generator-specific responsibilities, and essential recordkeeping practices. With real-world examples and compliance tips, this session is ideal for EHS professionals, facility managers, and anyone responsible for environmental compliance.
