Presents The ‘Women of Excellence and Small Business Grant Dinner’

 
Award recipients were selected for their exemplary vision, bravery, kindness,
notable achievements, generosity, and active participation in the community.
 
            LONG BEACH, Calif., (May 8 2024) — Since 2014, the Women’s Business Council (WBC) has been celebrating outstanding women in the community with its annual “Women of Excellence and Small Business Grant Dinner.” This year’s event at The Reef on the Water on Thursday, May 16 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. 

            City of Hope is the generous sponsor of the Small Business Grant program. The WBC will be awarding its annual small business grant to Brandee Raygoza, Co-Founder of Sala Coffee and Wine. The evening will also showcase a panel discussion featuring inspiring stories, triumphs, and the challenges overcome by women making significant impacts in business and education. This year’s award recipients are:
 
- Outstanding Community Leader – Alba Danely, Founder and CEO of Our Generation Cares.
 
- Outstanding Woman in Business – Sossi Crilly, VP of Business Development at WFG Title.
 
- Outstanding Woman in Education – Tasha W. Hunter, CSULB Faculty and Founder of Wiggins Hunter Consulting.
 
- City of Hope’s Small Business Grant – Brandee Raygoza, Co-Founder of Sala Coffee and Wine.
 
            Moderating the event is Yvonne Santos, Vice President Regional Sales Manager of Poppy Bank, and this year’s Women’s Business Council President. "This dinner highlights women who are not only excelling in their fields but are also elevating our community,” said Santos. “It's a privilege to celebrate such powerful examples of leadership and generosity.”
            "The Women of Excellence Dinner is more than just a celebration; it is a powerful affirmation of the incredible women who drive change in our community,” said Judy Nelson, VP of Business Councils at the Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce. “This annual gathering is a highlight of our year, as it allows us to spotlight the remarkable achievements of these leaders and share their stories."
