Long Beach Chamber Recognized at W.A.C.E. Conference for Leadership and Professional Development
LONG BEACH, Calif. (February 13, 2025) – The Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce was recognized last week at the 2025 Western Association of Chamber Executives (W.A.C.E.) Conference, with two major achievements underscoring the Chamber’s leadership and commitment to professional excellence.
Jeremy Harris, President & CEO of the Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, received the distinguished Russell E. Pettit Memorial Award, honoring his long-standing contributions to the chamber profession and dedication to mentoring peers across the region. The award is one of W.A.C.E.’s highest individual honors and recognizes those who have demonstrated unselfish leadership and service to advancing the professionalism of the chamber industry.
“True leadership is defined by the legacy of those we mentor and the professional standards we uphold,” said Kami Welch, ACE, W.A.C.E. outgoing Board Chair. “Jeremy Harris has set a gold standard for professional excellence, providing clarity and mentorship that strengthens chambers across our entire region.”
“I’ve always believed that if you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life,” said Harris. “I’ve been fortunate to build a career doing meaningful work alongside incredible peers, and I’m proud to have played a role helping others grow and in strengthening the chamber profession as a whole.”
In addition, Marilynn Singer, recently promoted to Director of Communications, graduated from the W.A.C.E. Academy, a respected three-year program designed to prepare emerging chamber professionals for long-term success. The academy focuses on core areas such as leadership, advocacy, communications, and membership development, and is recognized across the Western U.S. for building the next generation of chamber leaders.
These recognitions reflect the Chamber’s continued investment in professional growth and its leadership role within the broader chamber community.
