Jeremy Harris to Conclude Tenure as President and CEO of the Long Beach Area

Chamber of Commerce

LONG BEACH, Calif. (October 26, 2026) – After years of dedicated service and steady leadership through unprecedented challenges, Jeremy Harris has decided to step down as President and CEO of the Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce (LBACC) to focus on his family and his next professional chapter.

Harris has been involved with the Long Beach Chamber for nearly 20 years, first supporting the organization in a consulting role as a legislative and advocacy advisor, followed by his 2013 appointment as LBACC’s Senior Vice President, and appointment as President and CEO in July 2020.

Harris guided the Chamber through the COVID-19 pandemic, navigating a changing business landscape while maintaining the Chamber's commitment to its members and the local community. He leaves the Chamber with its highest number of members since the 2008-2009 recession and as the strongest voice for business in the greater Long Beach area.

"Jeremy led the Chamber through one of the most difficult periods our business community has faced, and he leaves a stronger Chamber and legacy of service to our members," said Chris Reese, Chair of the Board. "We thank him for the tens of thousands of hours he put into making Long Beach a better place to do business and wish him and his family the very best. We are grateful he leaves strong Chamber programs, councils, advocacy, and events that will continue to benefit our members.

“I’ve been the beneficiary to phenomenal board chairs and board members, strong mentorship and predecessors, a community that values the work of a strong local chamber of commerce and a thriving, business-friendly local economy, and, most importantly, an incredible family at home,” said Jeremy Harris, outgoing President & CEO. “I’m looking forward to my next chapter personally and professionally, and to celebrate the next chapter of the Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce.”

Harris oversaw the launch of the Long Beach Chamber Foundation; a rebrand research project in the celebration of The Chamber’s 135th Anniversary; legislative victories at the local, state and federal levels of government; and an unprecedented track record of success of political endorsements through the Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce Political Action Committee (The Chamber PAC).

He is a 2014 graduate of W.A.C.E. Academy and the recipient of several professional recognitions, including the Russell E. Pettit Award; Rusty Hammer Memorial Scholarship Award, and Gerald W. Hathaway Staff Person of the Year Award.

With more than 20 years in the chamber of commerce industry, Harris has held numerous leadership roles across national, state, and regional associations. His service includes Chair of the Western Association of Chamber Executives (W.A.C.E.), President of the W.A.C.E. Foundation, Trustee of the ACCE Benefits Trust, and membership on the U.S. Chamber’s Committee of 100 (CCC100), ACCE’s Major Cities Council, and the Midwest Institute Board of Regents for the Institute for Organization Management program.

The Chamber’s Board of Directors is developing a leadership transition plan and will share details, including plans for the search for the Chamber’s next President and CEO, in the coming weeks. Harris’s last day at The Chamber will be November 27, 2026 and he has volunteered to advise the leadership on the transition process.
