Vice President of Membership, Long Beach, CA
Full Time - Exempt
Salary: $70,000 plus Commission
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: We believe that membership is critical to the overall foundation and goals of the Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce (the Chamber). This requires an individual who can relate to members and prospective members of all sizes, industries, and prestige. A successful applicant will be responsible for member recruitment, marketing of membership events, sales and retention programing for members, as well as some minor advertising to promote the Chamber. This position has the full support of our staff and will have access to the needed resources to excel. A typical work schedule is expected; however, attendance at some early mornings and evenings for Chamber related events is required.
REQUIREMENTS: Experience in reaching sales goals is required. 3 years’ sales, membership development and community leadership experience in a related field preferred. Proven ability to work independently, exercise efficient time management, and meet deadlines. Position reports to the President & CEO. EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in business, communications, management, marketing, or other related field(s) is preferred. W.A.C.E Academy graduate or U.S. Chamber Institute graduate preferred but not required.
