Government Affairs Manager, Long Beach, CA                                 
Full Time - Exempt                                                                                       Salary: $70,000-$80,000
 
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: To manage and maintain the Chamber’s Public Policy Division and participate in legislative interests of more than 800 members. To act as the Chamber’s advocacy liaison by monitoring and analyzing local, county, state and federal legislation affecting the business community. To act as staff liaison to the Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce PAC and to manage the Chamber’s advocacy programs. To act as staff liaison to the Chamber’s Government Affairs Council (GAC) including Candidates Academy.
 
REQUIREMENTS: 3 years public relations/political science/community leadership experience in a related field preferred. Proven ability to work independently, exercise efficient time management, and meet deadlines.
 
Education: Bachelor Degree in Political Science, Business Administration, Communications or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. W.A.C.E Academy graduate and/ or U.S. Chamber Institute graduate preferred but not required.
