Job Summary:
The CAAS Manager’s primary function is to plan and direct the activities and personnel of the Accounting Services department. The CAAS Manager is responsible for upholding the mission, vision, and guiding principles of the firm.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Manages the Accounting Services personnel who are responsible for financial reporting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and budget preparation.
• Recruits and hires accounting and financial staff and conducts annual discussion for staff’s professional development.
• Coordinates training programs for new staff and identifies training needs for current staff.
• Serve as a positive role model and resource to all Accounting Services personnel.

Job Duties and Functions:
• Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.
• Oversees preparation of business activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets. Customize reporting for a client to meet their specific needs.
• Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
• Works closely with clients to assess their changing business and financial needs.
• Presents recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.
• Provides financial analysis with an emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
• Prepare and analysis of a client’s key performance indicators and other management reports.
• Provide ongoing advice to clients relating to historical financial information as well as financial projections.
• Oversee client engagement team through monthly/quarterly/period-end process that includes review of month end balancing and journal entries, analysis of GL accounts, financial statements and other reports requested by clients while ensuring report results comply with GAAP.
• Utilize technology to account for all accounting transactions for a client and provide recommendations to streamline processes.
• Participate in business development and identify opportunities to cross-sell value-added services to a client.
• Conduct client billing as needed.
• Assist with due diligence and advisory transaction services.
• Provide project management for special projects as needed.
• Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

• Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

 Productivity:
o Understand performance expectations as they relate to chargeable hours, development hours, and administrative hours.
o Supervise assignments to ensure the quality and timeliness of each assignment while within the budget.
o Communicate the client’s financial performance to the client where appropriate.
o Plans, organizes, and controls multiple responsibilities and resources to meet assignment objectives.
o Responsible for tracking due dates of all compliance and client need deliverables.
o Provide team direction to ensure assignment quality standards are met.

Technical Knowledge:
o Projects confidence and credibility in dealing with clients.
o Develop a thorough knowledge and understanding of tools and systems and processes (within appropriate discipline) and their practical applications.
o Able to anticipate problems/barriers and help develop plans to address them.
o Can plan, manage, and deliver quality service on time and within budget.
o Refine skills to communicate, motivate and evaluate team members.

Client Service:
o Build long term relationships with clients by understanding their business, industry and goals.
o Maintain contact with desired clients throughout the year and seek feedback on quality of firm’s work.
o Seek opportunities to increase and improve service to clients.
o Can understand the client’s expectations and translate them into practical and attainable objectives.
o Able to make presentations in a professional and confident manner.

Development and Team Work:
o Structure work teams to successfully meet client expectations and help develop strong client relationships.
o Review career goals and seek regular feedback and discussion from staff.
o Provide guidance and support in career development opportunities for team members.
o Help develop a network of resources within the firm to facilitate the sharing of information.
o Provide leadership by communicating and implementing all firm policies in a clean and positive manner.

Business Development:
o If necessary, present alternative service options to the client.
o Is alert to potential opportunities and refers these to the appropriate specialist within the firm.
o Actively participate in community and professional organizations.
o Participate in recruitment forums.
o Participate in proposals and presentations.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
• 5+ years of experience private/public accounting
• Certified Public Accountant
