Join Sounds & Spaces in the Atrium of the CSULB University Art Museum for an afternoon of music in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the International Sculpture Symposium held at CSULB in 1965. The Long Beach Symphony Chamber Players bring you Maurice Ravel?s iconic 1903 String Quartet dedicated to his dear teacher Gabriel Fauré and Pulitzer Prizewinning composer Jennifer Higdon?s gorgeous quartet, An Exaltation of Larks, commissioned for the Tokyo String Quartet in 2005. And don?t miss the opportunity to come early and enjoy FAR-SITED: SCULPTURE SYMPOSIA 1965/2015, an exhibition that explores this momentous coming together of international artists, and to walk the campus to see the sculptures they created, in collaboration with local industries, and left as a gift and a legacy to the University and to the City of Long Beach. This Sounds & Spaces performance is free and open to the public.
