Appointed CEO of Long Beach Memorial, Miller Children’s and Women’s Hospital Long Beach in June 2015, Bishop has been part of MemorialCare Health System since 2004.
 
He started at MemorialCare as CFO of Saddleback Memorial Medical Center in Laguna Hills and San Clemente following 12 years as a Certified Public Accountant with Ernst & Young, LLP, consulting with some of the country’s best-known health care organizations.
 
In 2009, he joined the Long Beach executive management team as CFO of Long Beach Memorial, Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital Long Beach and Seaside Health Plan and oversaw the financial operations of Memorial Medical Center Foundation, a philanthropic support organization for the hospitals.
 
John is a board member of the California Children’s Hospital Association, Seaside Health Plan, and the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce.  Bishop speaks frequently on health care topics and was named among the Nation’s Top CEOs in Health Care by Becker’s Hospital Review.
 
He is a long-time resident of Long Beach, California and holds Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Southern California.
