Library Lovers' and Black History Month Virtual Celebration with Elise Bryant And Senator Lena A. Gonzalez

In celebration of Long Beach libraries and leaders of color, the Long Beach Public Library Foundation is hosting a free virtual event for students featuring Long Beach author Elise Bryant and Library Foundation Honorary Director Senator Lena A. Gonzalez with opening remarks by Director of Library Services Glenda Williams. Elise Bryant’s debut young adult novel, Happily Ever Afters, was published by HarperCollins in January as a lead title. It has been featured in articles about the most anticipated books of 2021 by Buzzfeed, Publisher’s Weekly, Refinery29, and The Root.
The free event is made possible by Farmers & Merchants Bank, which is sponsoring the Library Foundation’s month-long online celebration of Library Lovers’ Month and Black History Month. The festivities will support the Library Foundation’s Fund for Race, Equity, and Justice Resources at the Library.
Students have the opportunity to submit questions for the author by February 15 at https://lbplfoundation.org/hea and one will win a signed copy of Happily Ever Afters.
