About Karissa: Karissa Selvester has served as the Executive Director of the Mayor?s Fund for Education since 2016. She leads the Fund?s program oversight, community engagement, partnership, and development efforts in support of its mission.

Karissa brings to the Fund a diverse professional background in public affairs, urban planning, government relations, fund development, and public‐private partnerships. She serves on the Long Beach Early Childhood Education Committee Board, Educare of Los Angeles at Long Beach Advisory Board, Long Beach All Children Thrive Steering Committee, First 5LA Business Engagement Regional Workgroup, Long Beach Mayor?s Internship Challenge Collaborative, and Long Beach Early Childhood Education Strategic Plan Oversight and Implementation Committee.
