Evening of Song
After a season of serious choral singing, with works ranging from Handel’s Messiah to Ola Gjielo to a newly commissioned piece of music, Long Beach Camerata Singers’ upcoming Evening of Song Concert and Fundraiser promises to be nothing but fun! The concert’s theme is The Great American Songbook and the program has been curated with such composers as Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, and Cole Porter at its center. These American Classics were born of the post-World War 2 economic boom, a time of hope, change and progress. The concert will feature solos, duets and choruses – and even a brass band – in a musical program accompanied by spontaneous theater and plenty of improvisation. The acclaimed Randy Gordon will serve as Master of Ceremonies of this event. Ticket purchases and further information may be found on the organization’s website at http://www.longbeachcameratasingers.org.
