The Los Angeles chapter of Teen Challenge of Southern California (TCSC) will hold a 5K Walk for Recovery on September 29 to raise awareness and funds to aid those recovering from drug and alcohol addiction. Los Angeles County Teen Challenge is part of the TCSC network that has more than 500 beds to serve both men and women struggling with life-controlling issues. The 12-month residential program for adults is offered at no charge to those in need. TCSC is funded by the donations of thousands of supporters and special events such as the Walk for Recovery. The organization receives no government funding. TCSC is a 501c3 non-profit organization that relies entirely on the generous donations, funding and volunteer efforts of both individuals and organizations in order to offer services at no cost to the individual. It is the mission of Teen Challenge to provide youth, adults and children an effective and comprehensive faith-based solution to drug and alcohol addiction as well as other life-controlling problems. TCSC is committed to enabling and equipping individuals to find freedom from addictive behavior, to become socially and emotionally healthy, physically well and spiritually alive.
