About Us

The YMCA is for youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Founded in 1884, we're the oldest and largest organization serving youth, teens, adults and families in the greater Long Beach area, with 5 community branches and a 230-acre camp in Big Bear. Additionally, the Y operates multiple after-school sites, most at public schools. We also operate 6 early care and education programs for preschool children, a nationally acclaimed youth technology institute, teen programs, health lifestyles, aquatics, day camps, after school enrichment, family involvement, youth sports, social enterprise/work development, community development, and Youth & Government.
