About Us

Meals on Wheels of Long Beach fulfills a vital role in our community by delivering freshly prepared, nutritionally balanced meals to at-risk, homebound seniors, veterans and the disabled throughout our community. More than 40% of our clients live at or below the poverty line and are at risk of suffering from food insecurity. Many more suffer from loneliness and isolation, putting them at greater risk for serious health issues and depression. Along with delivering meals, our 300 plus dedicated volunteers conduct wellness checks and make friendly visits, providing the social interaction so necessary to healthy aging.

Meals on Wheels of Long Beach's additional free supportive services further help to ensure our at-risk seniors and others in need can stay independent, safe and happy in their own homes for as long as possible.
