About Us
The Long Beach Rowing Association (LBRA), founded in 1932, is one of the oldest and most respected rowing clubs on the West Coast. We offer programs for youth, collegiate, masters, adaptive, and elite athletes on Alamitos Bay, Marine Stadium—the site of the 1932 Olympics—and the open Pacific. LBRA is a leader in coastal rowing, the newest Olympic discipline, and is playing a central role in preparing athletes and community programs as Long Beach hosts the coastal rowing events of the LA28 Olympic Games. Our mission is to grow the sport, foster teamwork and fitness, and build a rowing culture that connects tradition with innovation. Through camps, regattas, and outreach, we serve as a hub for athletes, families, and supporters, strengthening Long Beach’s legacy as a world-class rowing city.
