About Us

Since 1996, the Long Beach Public Library Foundation has fundraised and advocated for equal access to literacy, education, technology, and essential community resources through the Long Beach Public Library. Although the library’s day-to-day operations are funded by the city’s budget, many of the opportunities to grow, learn, create, and connect are made possible thanks to donations to the Library Foundation. Your generosity makes a difference in the lives of the families, students, job-seekers, veterans, older individuals, and those with disabilities who depend on the Library and helps build a more successful Long Beach.

The Library Foundation’s robust financial health and commitment to accountability and transparency earned it a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent charity evaluator, and the Platinum Seal of Transparency from GuideStar, the world’s largest source of nonprofit information. These are the highest rankings awarded by each of these organizations.
