About Us

The mission of the Long Beach Day Nursery is to provide high quality early care and education for young children of working parents. We provide a safe, healthy, educational, and nurturing environment for our students so that their parents may go to work or attend school. At the Long Beach Day Nursery (LBDN) we are dedicated to the belief that a good start in the formative years of childhood provides children with a lasting foundation for success throughout their lives.

Long Beach Day Nursery was the first licensed childcare program in Long Beach, the first to meet the high standards required for accreditation by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), and the oldest continuously licensed private social welfare agency in the state of California and we are committed to providing the highest quality early care and education to the children and families in our community. LBDN provides high quality, affordable care for children ages 6 weeks to 6 years. Our goals: to nurture the social, emotional, physical, linguistic and intellectual development of our children; to prepare them for successful entry into kindergarten.
