SUMMARY:The Sky Room's 9th Annual Grower Producer Champagne & Sparkling Tasting
DESCRIPTION:Champagne is one of the most remarkable wines in the world. Each bottle is loaded with an insane amount of complexity\; exhibiting layers of acidity\, fruit tones\, minerality\, and a beautiful autolytic component depending on the style and producer. Champagne is a hands-on process\;\n\na true labor of love that requires a phenomenal palate to produce a consistently delicious\n\nnon-vintage wine and the foresight to produce a vintage wine in the most exceptional years.\n\n \n\nWe enjoy Champagne so much that every year we host a special tasting to showcase the range of flavor profiles\, regions\, and qualities. We sort through hundreds of champagnes and sparklers to pick the perfect ten wines that are truly exceptional. This year we focused on "grower champagne." This mean the farmer\, who has the best understanding of the vineyard\, grows and produces the wine. These wines are very small production and highly sought after. Lucky for us we live in California where we still command some supply (I don't think much of this goes to any of the Dakotas). Reservations are strongly recommended\; this the event sells out each year. \n\n \n\nWe look forward to sharing a toast with you! \n\n\n\n1. P. Gimonnet "Fleuron" Blanc de Blancs Brut\, 2008 \n\n2. Ren Geoffroy "Empreinte" Brut 2009 \n\n3. R. Remoulin R serve Brut 2008 \n\n4.
