Inspired by her everyday encounters with charismatic women\, Philogyny takes the hue and essence of feminine allure and translates it into paint and canvas. The opening reception will take place February 5th\, 2016\, at 4007 E 4th St. Long Beach\, CA 90814 from 7pm-9pm. For all who attend the opening night\, there will be a free raffle for a chance to take home "Roselyn\," an original oil painting. Known for realistic feminine portraiture\, Kristina further hones in on her forte by using Philogyny to pay homage to women and their subtle attributes. "Women have often been considered muses\, sources of inspiration. I developed my appreciation and formed my aesthetic around this belief." Utilizing techniques such as dry brushing and scumbling\, her paintings are rendered in acrylic and oil on canvas\, delivering an authentic yet caricatured portrayal of each model. Combining elements of both abstract and realism\, her female forms are captivating and almost addicting to look upon. Philogyny will run February 5 -March 13\, 2016.
