Holding a B.A in Journalism and a Master's in Public Administration\, with a certificate in Diversity\, Equity\, and Inclusion from Cornell University\, she was appointed by Governor Gavin Newsom to the State Rehabilitation Council. Currently serving as a DEI Practitioner at the Los Angeles Homeless Service Authority\, Candis actively contributes to organization-wide equitable initiatives. Through her non-profit\, I AM ABLED. Inc.\, she conducts DEIA Training for national and local non-profits. Candis is a proud member of various advisory committees\, including California State University of Northridge and the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder Voter Accessibility Advisory Committee.
